Siuprem Presents Check to American Cancer Society

For $57,257 to Benefit Breast Cancer Programs And Research

Company Exceeds Pledge Amount for 2013

ATLANTA (March 7, 2014) – Siuprem Inc., a full-service independently owned insurance premium finance company, has presented the American Cancer Society with a check for $57,257 for breast cancer programs and research and the fight against breast cancer – exceeding its pledge amount for 2013.  Siuprem made the presentation on February 25 during a ceremony at Siuprem’s Alpharetta offices, where employees and executives – and the offices – were adorned in pink.

Siuprem funded its contribution throughout 2013 by enlisting their Independent Insurance Agency partners throughout the country to participate in the Agency Challenge, a pledge of $5 for every commercial contract financed by Siuprem. The company raised an additional $2,871 online.

Siuprem is a corporate flagship sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Atlanta.  Siuprem fielded a walk team of 191 employees, agents, family and friends for the 2013 event in Atlanta.

In 2013, John W. LaMay, Jr., president of Siuprem, pledged that the company would increase its donation amount to the Society to $55,000.

“We are proud to say that we not only hit our pledge goal for 2013 but exceeded it,” LaMay said. “Once again, we had tremendous support from our agents and everyone at Siuprem, and we thank everyone for all they did to raise more than $57,000 for the cause of fighting breast cancer.”

LaMay used the occasion to announce that Siuprem will increase its commitment goal to $60,000 in 2014. LaMay added “With the continued participation of our Independent Insurance Agency partners we will reach one quarter of a million dollars in total donations by the end of the 5th year of the Siuprem Cares campaign”.

Crystal Mantooth, the Society’s Senior Director for Community Events in the South Atlantic Division, said, “We are so grateful to everyone at Siuprem for their strong support of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the American Cancer Society. They are an integral part of our fight against breast cancer, and their passion for the cause is helping to make a difference in our community.”

The Society recently presented Siuprem with a Corporate Citizen Award at the annual Atlanta Corporate Awards program. The award goes to companies that have supported the American Cancer Society through volunteerism, mission programs, and sponsorships, and have contributed more than $50,000 over the course of a year.

About the American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest nongovernmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, nearly 14 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
